A Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 Phase 2 Character Overview

Honkai: Star Rail’s long awaited 4.0 update introduces a brand new world to explore and Elation Path for units to follow. The world, Planetarcadia, brings so many new quests and a continuation of the main story that players have been waiting a long time for. However, the newest Elation Path is a very divisive and interesting addition to the game by having units rely on stacks and follow-up attacks. Yao Guang was the first, but Sparxie aims to continue the Path’s roster. Here’s a quick overview on the second phase of HSR 4.0.

🗓️ When Will Phase 2 of Version 4.0 Release?

The second phase for HSR 4.0 is currently planned to release on March 3rd this year. It’ll last from there all the way until near the end of March on the 24th. Until then, players should mainly work on getting units like Yao Guang to not only get a 5-Star Elation character early in the roster, but also a strong Support for future Elation units. Sparxie is the next planned Elation unit to release, and she’s looking to be very Main DPS heavy. Want more units fast and easy? You can

⚡ Sparxie

We don’t know how Sparxie feels when playing for right now since she’s yet to debut, but we can already assume a lot based on her kit. Her kit shows that she’s a Main DPS meant for Elation teams and can pair well with Yao Guang thanks to the added buffs she gives too. Sparxie revolves around the Elation Path that has her building Punchline stacks for extra power. She also produces Bounce damage on top of Elation damage, which already makes her a pretty complex character to play as.
🧊 Cerydra

The next 5-star unit on the list and second phase main banner is Cerydra. She’s a great Support unit just like Yao Guang, but she’s especially made to support her Main DPS teammates. But that sounds pretty common sense right? Support the biggest damage dealer through buffs. Well, yes that is true, but Cerydra is more unique in this aspect. Instead of giving simple damage buffs to allies, she actually allows DPS units on the team to cast their Skills twice in a row without cooldowns! This is insanely lucrative, especially with Elation units who revolve around follow-ups.
🎨 Rappa

Rappa is another Main DPS unit that’s coming in the second phase and she’s a greatly balanced member. Since the Planetarcadia world is technically endgame content, you’re gonna need some of the best and strongest teams out there, especially those who you’ve already Ascended at the bare minimum. Rappa is a great character to carry you through Planetarcadia, as she has a healthy mix between single-target and AOE damage Skills and attacks. She’s also very powerful against enemies with Imaginary weaknesses, so keep that in mind.
✨ Sparkle

Sparkle is a familiar face making a return in the second phase with a big lore significance in the story. She’s known to be a trickster who’s always one-step ahead, including through switching identities. One of these set identities is actually Sparxie which is why their names are so similar. Whether Sparkle or Sparxie is the original, “real” version of the character is left up to interpretation or to be seen with Sparxie’s debut. Either way, Sparkle is a Support character with simple damage buffs in her kit, but a powerful unit at that.
🕶️ Pela

Moving onto the 4-star units making an appearance in the next phase, we have Pela. Pela is one of the strongest 4-stars thanks to her massive debuffs across all enemies in combat. An ability like this is essential in areas like Planetarcadia to keep you progressing through its quest and main storyline. Pela overall is a strong unit that has the potential to dramatically lower the playing field on the enemy side when focusing on certain Trace Nodes and Ascension.
👹 Hanya

Hanya is another Support unit in the 4-star camp, but boosts her units instead of debuffing enemies like Pela. She’s specifically known for focusing on her team’s Speed and Attack stats but can actually apply an effect on some enemies. This is Burden, which restores an ally’s SP whenever they attack the afflicted enemy. This essentially creates a short-term loop of recovered SP to keep your team strong and casting more Skills as they fight.
❄️ Qingque

Qingque is the last 4-star pick on the banners in the following phase. She’s a Main DPS unit out of the many Supports, but there’s a catch. She does some pretty decent damage all things considered but at the cost of a lot of Skill Points. However, when paired with units like Hanya which makes SP recharge easily through enemies, this issue can be very easily remedied if you decide to work with them both.
